Converting Traffic to Leads on Your Web Site

Wednesday, July 14, 2004

There are some simple things that you can do to convert more visitors to sales of your products or leads for your service. Probably the best thing you can do is ask for them to contact you. You should have a very clear button on every page of your site asking them to call you or fill out a contact form.

Once a person gets to your contact form, don't ask for too much information. This scares people away and isn't necessary at that point. You just want to be able to call or email them.

Another thing to do to increase conversions is to simplify navigation throughout and simplify the content on your home page. You don't want people to have to wade to get through all the pages.

One last thing. Ask people to call you at the end of pages and include the name of whom they should ask for. This adds to the personalness (is that a word?) of your site.

There are some more things you can do to aid your conversions, but these few things are a tremendous start.
